The two piece checkered walnut grips are in excellent condition. It comes with a correct but mismatched WWI wood base magazine marked “4002” and is housed in an unnamed artillery holster in very good condition, complete with a cleaning rod.

The Luger, also known as the Pistole Parabellum or Parabellum-Pistole (Pistol Parabellum), is a semi-automatic pistol that operates on a toggle-locked recoil system. It was designed by Georg Luger and produced by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) as an improvement of the Borchardt C-93 pistol. The first model, the Modell 1900 Parabellum, was followed by the “Marinepistole 1904” for the Imperial German Navy. It was adopted by the Swiss military in 1900, the Imperial German Navy in 1906, and the German Army in 1908. The Luger was used as a service pistol in many countries, including Switzerland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Brazil, Bolivia, and Bulgaria, as well as by police forces. The name Parabellum comes from the Latin phrase, “If you wish for peace, prepare for war.”
