Winchester Model 1886 .45 Cal Lever Action Rifle –SN: 98421 (Antique)

Offered here is a Winchester M1886 lever action rifle chambered in .45-70 with a 26 inch fully octagonal barrel. Buckhorn style rear and gold bead front site. Serial number “98421” is marked on the lower tang; this indicates production in 1895. “45-70” is marked on the top of the barrel next to the original removed caliber marking, suggesting that this gun was converted to this caliber. 98% of an old reblued finish remains. The bore is quite nice, with a shiny finish and nice rifling. All action mechanisms are in very good working condition. The smooth walnut stock appears to be original, but may have been lightly refinished.
