Offered here is a scarce Smith & Wesson 2nd Model American revolver – only around three thousand were made in this caliber! This revolver is chambered in 44 Henry rimfire and features an 8-inch barrel. The serial number “12476” is clearly marked on the butt, though the serial on the cylinder face and top latch is illegible. The revolver’s finish has transitioned to gray with moderate pitting. The bore is fair, showing a dull finish and corrosion, yet retaining visible rifling. The action is in fair working condition, indicative of wear but still functional. The two-piece smooth walnut factory grips are in good condition, showing wear, particularly at the toes, but no chips or cracks.
